Clarence Golds had a good 83-41 win at Mark Moor in the over-60 League.

Clarence B lost their area semi-final of the Tony Allcock Trophy to Ilminster, after holding their own in the early stages.

Clarence Blues were pipped by Clevedon Prom in their KO Cup quarter-final, despite winning three of the four rinks.

Barry Benn, Gordon Leigh and skip Richard Crawford had their best result, winning by 10 shots, but Blues went down 63-62.

Family members and Clarence and Wessex Bowling Club members gathered to pay tribute to the late Derek Stevens, who passed away in 2020.

The former club secretary, president and life member, who had been a member for over 40 years, could not be traditionally honoured at the time of his death due to Covid restrictions, but the family have donated a bench in his memory, which was accepted on behalf of all at Clarence Park by club presidents Mike Peters and Jo Mannion.
