FOLLOWING the completion of the league season, Clevedon LTC's men are now concentrating on the Aegon Team competition, the event that pitches teams against each other across the whole country is now in full swing.
This weekend Clevedon's men played Cleeve Hill (Bristol) in an Avon play-off match, the winners going on to represent Avon against other county champions during the next few weeks.
The team consisted of James Bassett, Sid Falconer, Mike Dale and Jason Burgoyne. All four won their singles rubbers in glorious sunshine. The heat affected a tiring Sid Falconer but he managed a win in a third set tie-break. Mike Dale and Jason Burgoyne went on to win the doubles match 6-4, 6-3.
The team now travel to the Esporta club in Poole, Dorset next weekend for the semi final.
