Langford racing driver Roger Orgee will be driving in the Walter Hayes Trophy race meeting at Silverstone.

CASTLE Combe Formula Ford champion, Roger Orgee from Langford, and his friend Tom Seward, from Nailsea, will be driving in the Walter Hayes Trophy race meeting at Silverstone on Sunday.

Roger is fresh from winning the Formula Ford championship, while Tom, who works for Mercedes Motorsport in Germany as a race engineer, will be trying to put his considerable technical expertise into practice on the track.

The format is totally Formula Ford, with around 150 drivers from all over the world trying to make their way through a series of heats, semi-finals and the grand final, where the top 36 will be fighting it out round Silverstone’s famous track.

Roger and Tom, who have been close friends since their junior karting days are hoping their joint expertise in driving and race car set up can combine to create a winning formula.
