THE cod season is well and truly upon us and there are reports of good catches north of the channel.
The best bait as always is fresh lug or rag worm. Recent reports from Dr Andrew Clay are promising with cod over 9lb being reported from the Sand Bay area. The place to be on the October 31 however, is Burnham-on-Sea
Once again, Weston Outcasts are putting on one of the Bristol Channel’s premier sea angling opens for everyone to enjoy. These competitions always have a good turnout including England internationals and a good number of fish at the scales.
Fishing is from 12noon-4pm, signing in at the Bay View Cafe from 10am. First prize �200 and second prize �100 with a choice of prizes off the table for runners-up.
There is always an abundance of raffle prizes. Fishing one rod and three hooks, anyone can have a go, juniors and beginners.
