NORTH Somerset Ladies travelled south to Taunton for their latest match in the Somerset Intercounty Superleague.

The night began in great fashion with vice-captain Becky Gould disposing of her player 3-0 (17.28). Taunton replied by taking the next two legs, despite valiant efforts from Kez English and newly-wed Anne Geer.

Next up to the oche was Louise Gordon who, despite being 2-0 down, dug deep and won her nailbiting five-leg match 3-2 (11.73) to bring the score back to a level peg. This seemed to be the turning point for the visiting side, captain, Sharon Quilliam continued North Somerset's good form by defeating her opponent 3-0 (14.18).

With North Somerset needing one leg for the win, the draw could not have fallen more comfortably into their hands. An on-form Jackie Garrett stepped to the floor and clinched the winning leg for the visitors, taking her game 3-0 (17.68) earning herself the player of the match award. The final game of the night fell to the youngest player of the team, age was clearly no barrier for Becky Churchill as she commanded her game, also winning 3-0 (11.65) sealing a 5-2 victory for North Somerset.

North Somerset Ladies would once again like to thank their sponsors Brunel Ford and extend their gratitude to Dave Evans for the use of transport.
