WESTON can justifiably feel aggrieved as they were beaten by the only goal in a tight Blue Square South game, when the referee made a crucial decision 12 minutes from time.

With both defences dominating and not one shot on target and with the game looking to be heading for a scoreless draw, the official from Hereford, Kevin Morris awarded Woking a corner when one of their players put the ball out of play behind the home goal.

Aswad Thomas delivered a good flag kick and substitute Ollie Palmer bundled the ball into the net on the far post. Weston skipper Craig Rand was yellow carded by arguing unsuccessfully with the official.

Weston went into the game missing Jamie Price and Nat Pepperell, both injured and the visitors, who needed a win to keep in touch with the play-offs hopefuls, started strongly with Moses Ademola and Jay Davies going close.

Weston had their best chance on 21 minutes when Brett Trowbridge cut along the by-line on the right, and when he was crowded out, fired across goal, but unfortunately there was no support to finish.

Midway through the second half, Weston central defender Matt Villis had to go off injured, so Rand reverted to central defender, Craig Laird junior moved into defence and Sahr Kabba came on up front.

Near the end, as Weston pressed for an equaliser, Kabba tested keeper Andy Little.
