County side held to a draw by Wedmore
Wedmore drew with the Somerset County Indoor Bowls Association under-25s in an annual fixtures.
WEDMORE recently hosted the annual fixture with the Somerset County Indoor Bowls Association under-25s.
The match was played in a friendly spirit against skilled young bowlers. A draw was a fair result, with Wedmore winning one rink led by Mike Green 21 shots to 10 and the visitors winning the other rink by the same margin 9-20.
Rink scores: D Collins, J Runciman, P Moxey, M Green 21-10; B Treloar, B Cottrell, R Norris, R Newell 9-20.
In a mixed friendly at home to Minehead, Wedmore won both rinks. Mike Green’s team won by 25 shots to 10 and Brian Aston’s by 19-15, overall score 44-25.

The ladies did well to win a friendly at Weston Victoria, being one player short. Maureen Hordle led her team to victory by 18 shots to 8, the Wedmore score reduced by 25 per cent to 13.5 shots in accordance with the rules for playing short-handed.
