Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College student Luke Mason, won the Gloucestershire county Under-14 epee championship.
LUKE Mason, aged 11, who attends Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College, won the Gloucestershire county Under-14 epee (fencing) championship.
Epee is one of the three types of sport fencing, where the whole body is a valid target and the rules are not as strict as in the other two, which basically means this is the closest you could safely get to an actual sword fight. The other two disciplines are foil and sabre.
Luke trains at Churchill Fencing Club, Churchill Village Hall, Ladymeade Lane, Churchill, on Wednesday evenings 7-9pm.
