BANWELL and Churchill Seconds, again fielding an inexperienced team, lost their latest league game by the margin of 99 runs to league leaders Temple Cloud. This occurred despite all-rounder Jamie Biddle taking a hat-trick when returning bowling figures of 6-56 and scoring 41 with the bat, as well as taking an excellent boundary catch.Banwell invited Temple Cloud to bat first on a bouncy track and despite Biddle's efforts with the ball, were able to score 201 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their alloted overs. Alex Foukes took 2-31 and Aaron Wilkinson 1-12 in five good overs while Mike Legg bowled his 12 overs for just 24 runs.Dan Borrett again excelled himself and took two fine catches as did Aaron Wilkinson.Banwell, in reply, fell well short with the bat, being dismissed for just 102 runs. Only Biddle, Steve McGrath (13) and Mike Legg (11) reached double figures. However, a useful 14 points were gained from the game which should secure their status in this division for next season. This is no mean achievement with six players under 16 in the team.
