UPHILL Castle skipper John Davidson won the toss and elected to bowl with a team featuring three sets of brothers, Davidson, Bliss and Trego.Pete Trego found it hard to exploit his pace on a slow flat wicket and the first wicket to fall was Goodrum caught behind by John Davidson off the bowling of Moffat (2-49). Sam Trego (3-38) came into the attack and soon found large turn, he quickly removed Loveluck, bowled, and Hunt caught and bowled soon after. Opener Toohey played well but was let down by the rest of the top order as wickets fell freely from the other end, and he was dismissed eventually caught behind off his glove from a Pete Trego (1-34) slower ball for a well grafted 50. Fraser played positively lower down the order and made 50 before being stumped off the bowling of Luke Bliss (2-20). Chris Davidson (0-15) and Chris Slocombe (1-12) also bowled well.Uphill were disappointed not to pick up the final wicket and extra bowling point as Winscombe finished on 177 for 9.In reply, Uphill's Trego opening partnership set about their task in a positive manner with both batsmen rarely troubled and finding the boundary frequently.Sam Trego was eventually bowled by Lunn for 75 off only 61 balls, brother Peter finished 95 not out, alongside Moffat one not out. A good win for Uphill collecting 21 points.
