Winscombe enjoyed a fine victory away at Weston seconds by three wickets.

Weston 2nd XI 140-9

Winscombe 1st XI 141-7

Winscombe travelled to Weston and won a useful toss against Weston seconds.

After electing to bowl, Weston were reduced to 0-2 as superb opening spells from Jory Cureton (3-11) and Chris Clough (2-15) put the pressure on from the start. Excellent fielding from Winscombe supported the bowlers and Rob Bradley (2-34) and Michael Hayes (1-24) also picked up wickets. On his first team debut, Tom Hall also bowled with great control, but without luck.

In reply, Winscombe knew the increasingly low-bouncing pitch would cause them difficulties, but after three early wickets, Hayes (42) and Hall (28) combined to move Winscombe towards 100.

After their dismissals, the assured Bradley (29 not out) and hard-hitting Dave Bailey (14) got Winscombe close and it was left to Dan Kennedy to hit a four from his first delivery to seal the three-wicket win for Winscombe.
