Admission to the ground will be by tickets bought in advance or by payment at the gate on the day. Cheddar Cricket Club chairman Brian Kirkup said: "The aims of the day are to mark this milestone in the club's history in style; to provide an unforgettable, entertaining and enjoyable cricketing day; to bring international cricket to the village; and, most importantly, to raise significant funds towards increasing the facilities for our junior cricket development programme. "We want to add outdoor practice nets, a scorebox with an electronic scoreboard and additional equipment storage amenities alongside the splendid parish pavilion. To this end we are very grateful for the significant backing we have already received from Formpro Marketing (Bristol) and are seeking to attract further sponsorship from other businesses to secure the event financially. Anyone requiring further information about this should contact me as soon as possible on 01934 742198." Junior indoor nets are already underway at the Kings of Wessex Leisure Centre and senior nets will start next month. Any players wishing to join the club would be most welcome at all levels of ability, as the club runs four league sides every Saturday, a Sunday XI, six junior sides and a mid-week XI.The contacts are club captain Terry Clark 01934 744601 or chairman Brian Kirkup 01934 742198.
