Archant

Lympsham & Belvedere seconds recorded a fantastic nine-wicket victory in their first game of the season at Churchill.

The hosts decided to bat first, but Belvedere's CJ Neate and Sam Jennings concede just six runs in their 12 overs between them.

Jennings' fine form would see him get the first wicket of the day when he bowled Ian Chadwick for six.

Stuart Bruce and Paul Davies helped steady the ship but Tom Deane on his league debut conceded 12 runs in his seven overs, bowling two maidens and taking a wicket, as he caught and bowled Dillion Morris.

The last two wickets saw Kevin Crockett bowl James Plaister for three and Jon Burge run out by Brian Hosey for a duck to leave the hosts 79-4 off 40 overs with opener Mike Legg 35 not out.

Chasing only 80 for victory, the visitors coped with the early loss of Sam Harris to reach their target in 17 overs as Kevin Crockett and Pete Hooper shared a 71-run stand ahead of a clash with Burnham seconds.
