New outdoor practice facilities were opened by Somerset cricket star Peter Trego at Uphill Castle Cricket Club.

Somerset cricket star Peter Trego officially opened Uphill Castle Cricket Club’s new outdoor practice facilities and bowled a few balls to the club’s young cricketers.

The event was also supported by Andy Curtis, chairman of the Somerset Cricket Board.

The club are extremely grateful for the grants received from Viridor Credits and the Tony Coles Trust, which enabled them to install state of the art practice pitches and nets.

Peter said: “The pace and bounce of the pitches is very similar to that of the all-grass pitches used in matches, which obviously better for practising on than most other types of artificial surface.”

The installation was performed by Ezy Net Ltd, whose managing director is former England cricketer Neal Radford.
