PAST and present players are invited to the official opening of the new facilities at Weston Cricket Club on Friday, July 21.Over the past six months, there have been a number of new developments at the club's ground in Devonshire Road. The indoor nets have been replaced, two new outdoor nets have been installed alongside the existing practice nets and half of the main ground square has been relaid, with the other half due to be done following the end of this season. All this has been made possible by funding from the England and Wales Cricket Board, Lord's Taveners, Sports Match, and in partnership with the club's sponsors."What better way to celebrate than to invite all current members and past and present players to see exactly what has been going on over the last few months," said club chairman John Scott. "It will also provide an excellent opportunity to catch up with old friends."The festivities will start at 7pm and free food will be provided. Anyone who would like to attend, please contact John on 01934 413355 or e-mail johnscott@rowan-dartington.co.uk by Monday, July 17.
