Lympsham Airways eased to a comfortable victory over the Strollers in Division 1 of the Proper Job Weston Midweek League.

In Division 1 of the Proper Job Weston Midweek League, Matt Huxtable top scored with 45, but the rest of the Strollers batsmen struggled to make much impression against the Lympsham Airways bowling attack.

Ben Laing collected three wickets at a cost of just two runs. In reply, Jack Luff made 36 not out and Dave Luff 24 not out as the Airways eased to a six-wicket win with James Holt taking 2-14.

In Division 2, The Presidents were involved in another close finish, but this time they suffered a two-run defeat against Cleeve Ducks.

Paul Jenkins made 78 as the Ducks posted 183-5 with CJ Neate taking 3-13 before Sam Neate with 52 not out almost saw the Presidents home, but they were dismissed for 181 with Josh Pratt taking 4-22.

Darryl Reynolds made 82 not out and Ashleigh Joyner contributed 49 as the Parpagon Carriers totalled 151-3 against Burnham, A Winton taking 2-23 and Craig Scrivens 1-31.

Burnham’s reply was based around 38 not out from Andy Ashfold, but Parpagon’s opening bowlers James Parsons (2-13) and Edwin Morris (2-11) ensured the required rate was never achieved and the innings petered out on 101-7.
