Weston twins Jodie and Lauren Filer were part of the Somerset girls' Under-13 team which finished in third place in the ECB county league.

SOMERSET girls’ Under-13s finished their ECB county league season on a high, winning their last two matches against Gloucestershire and Wales away.

This gained them third place in the league, only missing out second place by two points.

Weston twins Jodie and Lauren Filer had the opportunity to meet Charlotte Edwards (England ladies’ captain) at a training session at the Taunton County Ground. She brought with her the Ashes trophy which England successfully retained in Australia.

The girls also enjoyed a great finish to the season by attending a four-day cricket festival at Malvern College in Worcestershire. They now look towards winter training and trials for the Under-15 performance team in December.

If anyone is interested in cricket and would like to offer sponsorship to Jodie and Lauren, please contact Tel 07792 072730.
