Uphill Castle got their season off to a great start with a five-wicket win over Taunton St Andrews.
Having won the toss and put the visitors in, Castle saw their rivals make a solid start at the crease.
But the introduction of Marcus Bail led to a breakthrough and at 120-4 the match was evenly poised.
Kieran Ward (4-30), Kieran Chapman (3-37) and Tom Miller (1-20) were aided by great catches from George Fox and Tom Llewellyn as Taunton were dismissed for 181.
But Uphill slumped to 20-5 in reply and looked in serious trouble, before Llewellyn and Chapman settled them down.
Both began to play their shots and the pair eventually shared an unbroken sixth-wicket record stand of 167 as Castle claimed the maximum 35 points.
Llewellyn finished unbeaten on 71, while Autosmart man of the match Chapman had 83 runs to his name at the close after a stunning partnership.
