Weston Cricket Club hosted a 30-year reunion of the team that played at Lords in the final of the National Club Championship.

Weston lost to Stourbridge by four wickets on the day, but to reach the final at the home of cricket marked a magnificent achievement for the club who, just two years before, had got to the semi-final of the same competition.

The squad who represented Weston on that day in 1986 reunited at the club’s ground in Devonshire Road where, amid much reminiscing, they raised a glass to the one member of the team who wasn’t there, Dave Hill, who sadly passed away three years ago.

The players were joined at the reunion by Weston MP John Penrose and town and district councillor Sarah Codling.
