Winscombe won another toss against the visitors Bridgwater thirds and decided to bowl first at the Rec.

The opening bowlers stuck to their task well despite beating the bat numerous times and being unlucky with edges not carrying to fielders. It was left to Jordan Peters (2-51) to make the breakthrough with the score on 76.

Tom Hall took his first 1st XI wicket in an impressive spell of eight overs, 1-21. Although Bridgwater continues to accumulate well on a low pitch, captain Mike Coe (4-41) took useful wickets to restrict the score to 209-7.

In reply, Winscombe’s main early contributions came from Micheal Hayes (21) and Jory Cureton (50). The aggressive Ben Goodrum (21) also upped the rate and Hall (19) played well too. However, despite late runs from Coe (14) and Chris Clough (15), Winscombe were behind the necessary rate and in the end were bowled out for 190 runs to fall short by 19 runs.
