Winscombe lost their first league fixture of the season at home to Burnham.
Winscombe welcomed Burnham to the Rec for their first league game of the season, but the visitors went away with the spoils.
On a good pitch prepared by groundsman Doc Davies, Winscombe batted first and were given a sound foundation by new recruit Michael Hayes (59) and the experienced Jory Cureton (82).
Both men coped well with a predominantly spin-based attack and allowed positive knocks by Rob Bradley (26) and Steve Bawden (25 not out) to follow. Winscombe’s final total of 226-6 was strong.
Chris Clough (1-36) made things difficult for the Burnham batsmen in reply. Cureton (1-37) and Bradley (2-41) were also in the wickets, but an assured innings from Driver (79 not out) steered Burnham to a six-wicket victory with four overs to spare.
