WESTON lost another Blue Square South game to the weather when their trip to Braintree Town was called off on Saturday morning at 8.30am just as the party assembled to board their coach.

Not having played since December 28 away at Woking, the club now faces a backlog of fixtures, away to Bath City and Braintree Town as well as home games against Hampton and Richmond, and Bromley as well as all other scheduled games.

On Saturday, Weston's game at fellow strugglers Lewes will hopefully go ahead. This is a crucial fixture for both clubs with the East Sussex outfit one place above the Seagulls in the bottom three of the table. Weston will be looking for their first away win of the season and also their first double, having won 3-2 when the sides met at the Woodspring Stadium in October, thanks to a hat-trick by Dave Gilroy who was on loan from Newport County.

With the departure of Jack Compton to Scottish Premier League Falkirk and Adi Harris joining Bath City, Weston manager Andy Gurney has quickly filled the gaps by bringing in Josh Ford, a midfielder who started at Queens Park Rangers; Richard Evans on loan from Bath City and Ben Joyce is expected to join for a second loan spell from Torquay United.
