Weston Crusaders Under-11s finished as runners-up in a tournament at Yate.

WESTON Crusaders Under-11s rounded off the season playing a tournament in Yate, against some strong Bristol and Gloucester teams.

Having won their own tournament last week, they took a strong squad comprising Lewis, Ethan, Charlie, Harry, Blondie, Tom, Snedds and Joel.

Playing some excellent passing football, they progressed comfortably from their group. They then beat the strong home Yate side in the semi-finals and were unlucky to lose in the final to an extra time golden goal.

Despite the intense heat, they can be proud of their performance and work-rate and look to go from strength to strength when they start the new season.

Special mention goes to assistant coach Bill Hunter, who finally managed to finish a tournament without getting too sunburnt.
