Weston Ladies 1st XI 4

Winscombe Ladies 2nd XI 0

WESTON ladies closed their first half of the season against Winscombe seconds at home.

Weston started well and dominated possession. A number of efforts from Ollie Elliott and Becky Childs were stopped by the strong Winscombe defence.

Weston continued to attack and were rewarded when a shot from Katie Elliott smashed past their goalie. Winscombe’s defence continued to be tested and Charli Dale’s quick thinking saw her slip a ball past the keeper to put Weston 2-0 up going into half-time.

The second half saw great play from Claire Westgate, Hayley Mawford and Sophie Kramer, leading to a slick short corner routine, which Childs slotted into the goal to make it 3-0.

Weston’s backline were tested a handful of times during the game and when a clearance from Charlotte Gordon reached Elliot, she sent the ball flying into the goal, adding to the final score of 4-0.

Weston’s Mercedes Benz player of the match went to Charli Crandon.
