District League lose out by four pins

Weston and District Skittle League lost by just four pins against the Wrington Vale League in the second match between the two sides.

WESTON and District Skittles League second game with the Wrington Vale League took place at the Lamb Inn, with the Wrington team winning by four pins.

Weston got off to a good start in the first set winning it by 20 pins, with captain Tim Urch getting 54 and Phil Hucker hitting 50. The second set went to the Wrington side with Clint Harding hitting 50, enabling them to pull 12 pins back.

The third belonged to the Wrington Vale team with Steve Hucker hitting 60 and his two partners in this set scoring 51 and 52. Weston had a good score from Martin Taylor with 57.

The Wrington team went into the last set with a nine-pin advantage. In the last set for Weston, Andy Collard hit 58 and with Steve Barker hitting 55, they could not pull back the nine pins needed to win the match as Wrington captain Andy Harris notched 54.
