Warmer conditions helped angler Eric Searle take the top weight at Shiplate Farm Fisheries near Bleadon.

WARMER and drier weather was welcomed by anglers fishing the matches at Shiplate Farm in Bleadon.

Although a southerly breezy to start, the wind settled and became gentler as the day progressed. Eric Searle claimed the winning bag, using corn on the feeder.

Results - Main Lake: Eric Searle (peg 1), 52lb 12oz; Andy Butt (peg 14), 48lb 8oz; Dave Allen (peg 15), 46lb 12oz. Silvers went to Tony Newell (peg 4a), 38lb 6oz.

On the Hawthorns, Tim Lewis used meat on the pole to win the match.

Results: Tim Lewis (peg 15), 22lb; Jeff Wye (peg 10), 21lb 6oz; Dom Sullivan (peg 1), 21lb 6oz. Silvers went to Ron Stark (peg 8), 3lb 8oz.
