Weston Blokart sailor Matthew Edwards earned silver at the European Open Blokart Championships held on Weston beach.

WESTON Blokart sailor Matthew Edwards, aged 42, enjoyed a great result in coming second in the European Open Blokart Championships held on Weston beach.

The conditions were testing as the wind did not always play ball, but he still managed to beat off competition from the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium and Germany to claim the runners-up place in the production heavyweight class. First place went to Chris Selway from Bristol.

The pilots from all over the world enjoyed the event and lots said Weston had a great beach to sail Blokart on. This reinforced that fact that Weston is the hub of Blokart sailing in the UK.
