TWO ex-Weston Rugby Club players, Dan Tuohy and Jack Cuthbert, played against each other for Ulster and Bath respectively in the Heineken Cup at Ravenhill, Belfast, last Saturday.
TWO ex-Weston Rugby Club players, Dan Tuohy and Jack Cuthbert, played against each other for Ulster and Bath respectively in the Heineken Cup at Ravenhill, Belfast, last Saturday.
Ulster won 22-18 with Dan’s performance earning him a place in the Planet Rugby team of the week and Jack scoring a length of the pitch breakaway try.
The game was shown live on Sky TV was attended by 27 Weston members, who enjoyed a cultural weekend in Belfast. The return match is at The Rec in Bath this Saturday and is also live on Sky TV.
Both players started their careers in Weston and played for Weston Colts. Dan attended Priory School and then went onto Hartpury College, where he played for Gloucester in the Premiership.
He then moved onto Exeter Chiefs before signing for Ulster 18 months ago. He is in his second season with the Irish province and earned selection for Ireland and played against the All Blacks, scoring a try on his debut during their summer tour.
Jack attended QEH School in Bristol and signed for Bath straight from Weston Colts. He has just been selected in the Scotland squad for the Six Nations after appearing in their A squad recently.
