High Flyer Trampolining Club enjoyed an excellent day at the recent regional grading day at Bath University.

HIGH Flyers Trampolining Club from Cheddar enjoyed an excellent day at the regional grading competition in Bath recently, coming away with two gold, two silver and three bronze medals, as well as having seven members qualify to higher grades.

In Regional D, Alex Paterson (Under-19 boys) bounced his way to first place and qualified to National C, along with Carrie Robinson second (Under-19 girls). In the Under-15 girls, Sophie Bishop finished third, Emily Forrester fourth, Daisy May Ham fifth (just missing qualifying during the preliminary round) and Jasmine Moroney eighth, qualifying to National C, Amy Godwin ninth, Imogen Moroney 10th, Beth Fisher 11th Lottie Brazier 16th and Tara Harding 24th.

The Under-15 girls’ teams also had a good day with Jasmine Moroney, Emily Forrester and Imogen Moroney achieving first place. Amy Godwin, Beth Fisher and Lottie Brazier were fourth, closely followed by Sophie Bishop, Daisy May Ham and Tara Harding in fifth place.

In Regional E, also jumping well on the day were Sam Forster first (Under-13 boys), Ryan Moss second (Under-15 boys) and Sophie Pitt sixth (Under-15 girls).

Regional F saw Cerianne Verrinder land first place (Under-13 girls) and qualify to Regional E, with Lucy Nilsson bouncing into eighth (Under-15 girls) after returning to competitions following a break.

In Regional G, Phoebe Samuel (Under-13 girls) jumped into third place and qualified to Regional F.

The club also celebrated success in the summer at the British national finals at the NIA Birmingham, where 14 team members competed.

After the first day of competition, four gymnasts had made individual finals in the following positions - Laura Gallagher (second) ladies, Anna Butler (fourth) Under-19 FIG B, Abbie Hiscox (second) Under-19 NAT C and Erin Slater (second) Under-17 NAT C.

Unfortunately during the finals, a few mistakes were made in the routines and the girls finished in the following places: Laura Gallagher seventh, Anna Butler eighth, Abbie Hiscox eighth, Erin Slater managed to hold her place and finished in silver medal position.

The Under-19 NAT C team of Abbie Hiscox, Lauren Hogarth and Hannah Naish came third and the Under-17 NAT C team of Erin Slater, Rosie, Hannah G, Emily Manasseh and Klaudia Lentowicz came second.

Other results: Over-19 NAT C Coral Isaac 35th; Under-19 NAT C Lauren Hogarth 22nd, Hannah Naish 38th; Under-17 NAT C Rosie Allen 16th, Hannah Gratton 18th, Klaudia Lentowicz 37th; Under-15 NAT C Eva Parfitt 9th, Abi Morgan 39th; Under-13 NAT C Charlotte Wright Hayley 22nd.

? WESTON Trampoline Club entered six of its new team members into their first grading competition at the University of Bath.

With over 200 children competing during the course of the day, the team showed no sign of nerves as they performed their routines in front of a panel of seven judges.

All competing in Grade G, they finished in the following positions: Under-9 girls’: Charlotte Fuller 8th, Beatrice Young 12th; Under-9 boy’s: Oliver Dolphin 7th; Under-11 boy’s: Max Weldon 14th; Under-13 boy’s: Jevan Dudd 9th; Under-15 girls’: Ellie Cattermole 21st.
