Weston Under-13s defeated Backwell Flax Bourton by 70 to get their season off to a fine start.
Weston Under-13s made a comfortable start to the new season with a good win away to Backwell Flax Bourton.
Opening together for the first time, the opening pair of John Fleming and Jodie Filer immediately took the game away from the home side with an opening stand of 70. Once Filer was out for 20, Fleming (46 not out), Massey (4) and skipper Tasker (14 not out) set Backwell an imposing target of 117 to win in 18 overs.
Rotating his bowlers well and ensuring the whole team had a chance to contribute with the ball, Tasker led a well-organised bowling unit to victory by 70 runs. Jake Richards and Georgina Goodwin were the standout bowlers.
