A FAMILIAR name stands between Weston-super-Mare and the first round of the FA Cup after the final qualifying draw was made at Wembley this morning (Monday).
The Seagulls will travel to fellow National League South side St Albans City on October 24, with the winners entering the first round proper of the competition, and a potential money-spinning encounter against opposition as high as SkyBet League One.
The Saints sit third bottom of the division, one point and one place above Weston, and were victorious in both their encounters with Ryan Northmore’s side last season.
Weston reached the fourth qualifying round with a 3-1 win at Wingate and Finchley on Saturday, while St Albans edged past Evo-Stik League Southern Division 1 Central side Petersfield Town by a single goal.
Last year, the Seagulls’ run was ended in the first round proper when a packed Woodspring Stadium saw Doncaster Rovers knock Mickey Bell’s side out of the cup.
