Barry Fellows saw off four other players on countback to win Brean’s Seniors Open on 41 points.

With 23 points on the homeward half, it was Fellows who claimed the Bill Martin Trophy.

In doing so he prevented 2021 winner Tim Amy from repeating his success as he had to settle for second.

Trevor Pitt, third overall, secured the Nicoll Trophy once again in the 65-69 age bracket.

Les Byrne was awarded runners-up spot after losing out to Pitt on the last six holes, with Tony Oliver awarded third overall with the last of the 41-point cards.

Ian Rogers and Ian Adams scored 40 apiece to take the final prizes on offer in the Overall and Nicoll Trophy categories respectively.

Vincent Ford was the leading player over the age of 70 and his 39 points brought him the Veterans Trophy, four points clear of Tony Higgins with Mike Allen one point further back in third.

Kelvin Dando took the leading visitor prize after another countback with Pete Coley from Falmouth after both notched 37 points.

Dave Jolly recorded his best competitive score in the July Medal.

After scoring 81 in the first round of the Club Championship he needed just 80 shots to complete the course.

This gave him a nett 64 and a two-stroke victory in Division Two over Nathan Pickering with Dan West third on 68.

Tom Broom was the victor in Division One with a superb nett 66 and his winning six-shot margin was the biggest of the day as club captain Pete Barton finished runner-up.

Tom's cousin Dan, the 2022 club champion, was third on 73.

A nett 72 was enough to give captain-elect Gordy Wheelaghan the win in Division Three.

Nick Aspey was second on countback, missing out on his maiden win at Brean, as Bob Pelzer came third with 75.

Richard Fairchild recorded a stunning return of 48 points in Sunday's Super Series Stableford after no less than 13 nett birdies to finish five points ahead of Aspey.

Aspey's superb score of 43 looked good enough until Fairchild finished as Tony McCann beat Kevin Davies for third on countback after both had 42 points in Division Two.

Division One scoring appeared much harder in the breezy conditions and Nathan Pickering took the win with 39 points.

He held off Murray Parsons by a single point to secure success as Mats Mattsson beat Ryan Mogg on countback for third on 37.
