Barry Fellows claimed victory in Brean Golf Club's Monthly Stableford despite a fairly uneventful 18 points after failing to score on the eighth hole last Sunday.

However, after turning for home it was a different story as he built up a head of steam and finished like an express train with a superb 26 points for a winning total of 44.

His card included no less than three birdie two's as well, at the second, 14th and 17th, giving him a third of the prize pot as well.

Fellows relegated Steve Eley to second in Division One after his impressive 40 point return with Dan Broom third on 35.

Amy handed in his second 40 plus score of the weekend with his 41 points of Sunday coming courtesy of his lowest competition score so far and reduced his ever improving handicap index a little further.

It also gave him the victory in Division Three ahead of runner-up Steve Martin on 38 with Martyn Brown third, again with 35.

Eamonn Wynne secured the win with 39 points in Division Two.

He beat his playing partner for the day David Hunter by three with Simon Chopping, who like the other two divisions, finished with 35 to take third place.

The seventh round of the Seniors Winter League went ahead on a damp and drizzly Tuesday morning.

The winning team was decided after a countback over the back nine holes and just two strokes separated the leading four finishers.

Leading the way was Brian Reeves, Chris Stephens and Vincent Ford with their nett 63 ahead of the runners-up Trevor Pitt and Amy.

Third place with 64 was claimed after another countback was completed by Chris Fairchild, Ken Ponter and Graham Exton ahead of another pair in the shape of Mike Allen and Barrie Tucker.

Club captain Dave Morgan and his partner Adam Cox picked up victory in Brean Golf Club's Pairs Aggregate Stableford in the first silverware of 2022 last Saturday.

The scoring was pretty impressive with seven pairs combining to post sub par scores, including four individual scores of 40 points or more, but leading the way at the end of the day was Morgan (40) and Cox (41).

The duo held a four-point advantage over Kevin Davies (39) and Mats Mattsson (38) who took runners-up spot.

Third place went to the matching returns of 38 handed in by Dan Reason and Brian Read.

Phil Barry and Tim Amy were the other players to score 40 or more on their own but when it was added to their partners score it wasn't enough for them to break into the top three.
