Nailsea Cricket Club’s fourth team notch up their first victory.

SOME error free fielding and some big hitting were the main features of a Nailsea fourth team notching up their first win of the season.

Opening the batting, the home side were five wickets down after 18 overs and with only 59 runs on the board. Enter Robin Duffin (39) and Will Balsam (70) for a partnership of 94. Tom Cattermole (7) and Ellis Turner (7) were able to prop up one end for Duffin to complete an excellent performance.

Nailsea took to the field with Balsam (2-32) and Rich Billows (1-18) opening the bowling, Duffin (3-26) then came on with Alan Rogerson (1-37). Further wickets fell to Turner (2-36) with Chris Attwood (0-17) bowling tightly at the close.

Also of note was a great day behind the stumps for Cattermole with only one bye conceded and some excellent fielding by all, with some great catches taken by Rogerson (2), Cattermole (2), Turner, Ben Foran and Attwood.
