Andrews won all his singles with the loss of just one game to Banwell’s Beth Atkinson. Jeremiah and Cope beat Cronin and Trevor Williams.

Cath Smith and Peter Joiner of Winsc Warriors had an uphill task against Vets C. Joiner won a game from each of his opponents, John Barcham, Tony Chedgy and Roger Norvill and one in the doubles with Cath. Vets won the match 30-4.

In Division 1, it was a close match, despite the Vets A 7-3 winning scoreline against Winsc Renegades. It was tough for Colin Lewis, although winning his singles, needed four against Dave Williams and Trevor Jones and just crept home 11-9 in the fifth against Paul Hayward. Peter Butterworth and Roger Crump won the doubles in three against Hayward and Williams.

In the Archdale Cup Group A, Vets A’s greater experience saw them overcome the youngsters of C & C Banwell. Ann Sandford (6) took three points after a hard slog with all her matches going to three games.

It was also tough for Peter Butterworth (0) beating Max Jeremiah (12) in three and Beth Atkinson (15) in two. Hannah Cope (15) managed to hold on to her advantage winning 18 & 19. Vets won 6-3.

Against Totterdown C, the Banwell team also collected three points. Max Jeremiah beat Garry Chell and Mark Price both on seven and Beth Atkinson beat Price. Man of the match Totterdown’s Jason King (9) won all three. Totterdown won the match 6-3.

In Group B, Winsc Renegades were a player short but managed to notch up a respectable four points against the full team of Totterdown Daemons. Dave Williams (3) and Trevor Jones (1) both defeated Daemons’ Paul Hardin (10) and Mike Summers (9). Jason King (9) in turn defeated both. Daemons won 5-4.

It was a close competitive match between C & C Cobras and Vets C with every player coming away with at least one win. Star of the evening was Vets’ Garry Every (10) who won all his encounters; against James Bessant (10) in two straight, but lost a game each to John Barker and Simon Thomas both on 11. Vets’ John Barcham (9) lost to Bessant, but Mark Treasure (10) beat him in three. Vets won 6-3.
