Banwell Reserves’ flying start continued with an away win at Selkirk.

WITH both sides back in league action and desperate for points for different reasons, Banwell enjoying a flying start, while Selkirk are struggling at the other end of the table.
Banwell started the game the brighter side with Harry Hornigold and Mark Jones seeing lots of the ball, keeping the supply for Callum White and James Lucas to feed crosses in from out wide.

The visitors broke the deadlock when a Hornigold cross was met at the back post by a Lucas header. The hosts had their keeper to thank on several occasions as Paul Marquis, Adam Abrams, Jones and Hornigold all went close.
A Jason Potter long ball found Marquis in space, who rounded the keeper to double the lead at the break.

Lucas had the ball in the net early in the second half, only to be ruled out for a tight offside decision. Banwell had Si Thorne to thank on a few occasions as the second half was a more even game.
The hosts were able to introduce Scotty McLoud, Jimmy Darch and Danny Reyes to settle Banwell’s game and ensure all three points.
There were strong performances from Hornigold and Russ Mitchell, but Roy Hart Motors man of the match was Roger Mitchell.
