WINSCOMBE ladies got off to a great start with Chloe Brown dribbling the ball confidently through Chard’s defence and scoring the first goal.

After a brilliant bit of play from Kelly Clark, she found Sarah Holland who smashed the ball into the back of the net. This goal was quickly followed by another after Winscombe won a penalty corner, giving Clark the chance to put it safely away.

Seconds before the half-time whistle, Gabby Richardson set up Kerri Willis to give Winscombe their 4-0 lead at the break.

Again, Brown started the scoring for the second half during a penalty corner routine. A wonderful run down the right from Holly Freemantle created space for Willis to receive a pass and flick the ball past the keeper.

Brown found the back of net again with a great shot and bagging herself a hat-trick and player of the match. A good partnership on the left from Kate Burdge and Michelle Isgar confused Chard’s defence and Isgar made it 8-0.

Leanne Gardiner increased Winscombe’s lead and the game was finished off with Gardiner setting up Richardson to give Winscombe their biggest win of the season.
