WESTON’s match tomorrow against Chelmsford City has been postponed after the Essex pitch was deemed unplayable.

A pitch inspection at 3.30pm found the ground to be frozen and the decision was taken to call the came off at the first opportunity.

It is the second game Weston have lost to bad weather this week after the Seagulls’ game against Cardiff City Reserves was also called off on Wednesday evening.

The decision robs Weston of the chance to close the two-point gap between them and the play-off places, following last week’s humbling 3-0 defeat at home to Bromley.

Manager Craig Laird told the Mercury the side would soon bounce back after their ‘ridiculous’ performance.
