Weston Football Club has appointed Mark McKeever as its new football development officer.

Weston is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark McKeever as its new football development officer.

McKeever is an ex-professional footballer, who has played for Sheffield Wednesday and also Bristol Rovers. He is an ex-Seagulls player and also has extensive experience in running the Weston Football Academy with Weston College.

He is a UEFA B License coach with many years experience in coaching at this level for the first team and Academy teams and will bring a much-needed link to the first team and also strengthen the work with Weston College.

Syd Camper has been appointed as deputy football development officer and will be working closely with Mark and Matt Bazell to develop his skills. Syd is a product of Weston Academy and is already showing signs of being a great coach for the future.

The football club has teams from age six to under-23s and this is the first step in making this an outstanding Academy in the South West.

The aim is to give as many of the Academy players the opportunity to play in the first team squad. Former Academy players Brad Ash and Dale Grubb have had the opportunity to move on to Barnsley and Forest Green Rovers respectively.
