Cheddar’s match against Warminster Town last Saturday was called off due to the playing surface being waterlogged.

The rain-sodden Bowdens Park playing surface combined with the inclement weather conditions put paid to Cheddar’s Toolstation Western League Division 1 visit of Warminster Town last Saturday.

The Cheesemen are next in action on Saturday (when they welcome Radstock Town (3pm).

With the first team out of action, Cheddar Reserves took centre stage, and recorded another giant killing in the third round of the Uhlsport Somerset County League’s Division 2/3 Cup.

Division 3 Cheddar won 4-3 at Division 2 Castle Cary to book a place in the last eight of the competition. Tobias Jones and a Robbi Maggs hat-trick did the damage for the visitors.

On Saturday, Cheddar Reserves travel to Winscombe Reserves (2.30pm) in Division 3 of the Uhlsport Somerset County League.

Cheddar A drew 2-2 with visiting West Wick in Division 3 of the Weston and District League.

Cheddar Ladies slipped further down Division 2 of the Somerset County Women’s League after losing 6-1 at Hutton. Sinead Boys scored the only goal.

Cheddar Ladies are next in action on Sunday when they entertain Hamilton (2pm) in more Division 2 action.
