DYNAMO Locking maintained their unbeaten start to the season after beating Uphill for the second time this season.

Dynamo kicked off and kept possession nicely with good work by Jon Rowsell and Angus Lewis, who put in a great ball over the top for Matt Hollow. He cut inside and curled a great shot into the net and Uphill hadn’t even touched the ball.

Dynamo made it 2-0 after 15 minutes from a corner that Uphill partially cleared. Great work from Ben Hollow set up Matt Hollow to head home his second of the game.

Dynamo got their third goal early on when a Mitch Corrick through ball found Dan Cook, who smashed it past the keeper. The home side finished the scoring when Kyle Hobden set Matt Hollow free, but was fouled in the penalty area, which he then netted to complete his hat-trick.

The Raddy’s Café Bar man of the match went to Matt Hollow.

Locking Park 4

FOR the first time this season, Rangers failed to score the first goal, and along with a poor start, cost them a place in the Knockout Cup second round.

Rangers were denied a penalty in the opening minutes when Ryan Kelleher was through on goal, before Locking Park got a grip on the game, scoring two quick goals.

Rangers bounced back late in the first-half, and following a string of efforts denied by the Locking back four, Bobby Dugmore netted to make it 2-1. Dugmore had the chance to equalise from the penalty spot, but was denied by the crossbar.

Rangers began the second half strongly, with Brinson and Backhouse seeing more of the ball and controlling the play. They had a strong penalty appeal turned down when Charlie Dugmore was tripped inside the box, and within minutes found themselves 3-1 down.

Rangers pushed forward, but were met by a good defensive Locking side, who added a fourth goal on the break with 10 minutes remaining.

This week’s Curry Garden man of the match was Chris Brinson.

Winscombe A 1

Clapton-in-Gordano 1

A STUNNING late volley from Alex Michael secured a point for Winscombe and ended Clapton-in-Gordano’s 100 per cent start to the season.

Spurred on by Matt Wright’s rousing pre-match team talk, Winscombe were unlucky not to break the deadlock after creating several first-half chances.

It looked as though those missed opportunities would come back to haunt them, as Martin Jones allowed the Clapton forward too much space to drill the ball across the box, where Harry Bee could only steer the ball past his own keeper to give Clapton the lead on 80 minutes.

After being brilliantly put through on goal by Luke Phillips, Michael snatched a point for Winscombe at the death.

Betware man of the match was Luke Phillips.
