Worle players were rewarded for their hard work getting the pitch playable by beating visitors Clutton.

Worle players turned up early and did lots of work on the pitch to get the pitch playable against Clutton.

The hosts started slowly and found themselves 1-0 down after five minutes with some sloppy defending, before the Clutton striker finished from five yards out.

Worle managed to get back into the game when Chris Taylor made a break before being brought down for a penalty that Ryan Hodrien converted.

The second half started much the same as the first, Worle played some good football but Clutton managed to get back into the lead.

The visitors continued to attack but were caught offside numerous times and Worle started to play themselves back into the game when John Parker scored a wonderful goal from 30 yards that looped over the Clutton keeper.

This spurred the home side on and they started to dictate the play before Ryan Down turned outside the box and finished into the bottom corner to give Worle the lead for the first time.

With some resolute defending from Simon Hudson, Conner Down and Elliott Nelson, Worle held firm at the back and Johnny Parker, Frazier Rendall, Calum Mcmanus, Ryan Down and Cyrus Molten battling well in midfield.

Worle managed to see the game out and take all three points. Clutton felt hard done by at not getting anything from the game in which they led twice.

This Saturday, Worle make the short journey to Wrington & Redhill in a local derby, kick-off is 2pm.
