Hutton girls ran out comfortable winners at AEK Boco, despite a fine performance by the home custodian.
HUTTON Under-15 girls started brightly in their encounter at AEK Boco, but they found the home keeper in inspired form.
Hutton continued to attack and Tia Craig and Gabby Massey twice shot wide after good approach work from the Hutton midfield of Lauryn Nigh, Hannah Worley and Georgia Ferdinando.
The girls pressed forward constantly and Nigh shot narrowly over the bar before the Boco keeper was again forced into action.
The hosts sporadically ventured into the Hutton half and forced a couple of corners, which were comfortably taken by Lauren Filer in the Hutton goal, before Robyn Perrett broke the deadlock by calmly slotting home after her initial drive was saved.
The girls continued to attack at every opportunity and the home defence defiantly kept the score down before Rachael Curtis netted from 25 yards to extend the lead.
The second half continued to be Hutton’s with their defensive line of Anya Lawrence, Hannah Capes, Nicole Badman and Eva Ferdinando easily dealing with the Boco forwards, before a rare defensive slip gave the hosts a sight on goal with Filer’s finger-tip save protecting the Hutton lead.
This proved to be the only scare as Hutton’s dominance continued to be met by the Boco keeper’s fine form, before Massey finally beat her after neat interchanges on the edge of the box.
Jodie Filler continued her good form in the Hutton midfield and her string of passes was a constant threat allowing the free-running Hutton forwards to bear down on the Boco goal and it was her cross that was met by Craig on the back post to fire in Hutton’s fourth and final goal of the day.
Credit must be given to the Boco keeper who kept the scoring down with a string of fine saves, with Gabby Massey being awarded McDonalds Weston player of the game and Anya Lawrence supporter’s player.
