Jake signs up with Millfield School

Weston footballer Jake Mawford has been appointed as football development officer at Millfield School.

Jake Mawford, football coach and part-time professional footballer for Weston Football Club, will take up the role of football development officer at Millfield School next month.

A recent graduate of sports studies with a 2:1 from UWE University, Jake leads the volunteer coaching staff at North Somerset Schools FA (NSSFA) and Somerset Schools FA (SSFA), acting as head coach to more than 200 pupils aged eight to 18 years old and building up a programme of fixtures and training opportunities from scratch. Jake is also FA Levels 1 and 2 qualified.

Jake has also represented several football academies including Bristol City and Southampton during his professional career.

Jake said: “Becoming football development officer at Millfield is a real privilege and I look forward to working closely with all the coaching staff to help build on the existing football programme.”
