Weston Ladies defeated previously unbeaten league leaders Alphinton after an excellent team performance.

Weston Ladies welcomed unbeaten league leaders Alphington to the Woodspring Stadium and produced a fine display to win 4-2.

Weston pulled together and worked as a team from the whistle, with Ellie Roberts netting the first goal after only seven minutes for Weston which they continued to hold the lead throughout the first half.

After the break, both sides came out with fire and determination, but Alphington drew level from the penalty spot.

Within minutes the visitors managed to score another goal to make it 2-1, but Weston soon equalised with a goal from Lucy Mager, who scored from a courageous attack.

This left the game level with 18 minutes remaining, but it did not stop the home team giving every ounce of effort and they managed to create another goal by Roberts.

Soon after, Roberts saw her legs get taken from under her by the keeper, but she still managed to still the keeper from outside the box to give her a hat-trick, giving Weston their fourth goal with only minutes remaining.
