Weston Football Club have today (Tuesday) announced the signing of striker Jake Lee, who first joined the club back in January.

The 25-year-old made the move from Southern League South and West side Shortwood United and enjoyed a successful spell at the club under former head coach Scott Bartlett.

Lee did have an offer from Gloucester City but opted to stay with the Seagulls.

Weston boss Marc McGregor said: “We are delighted that Jake is staying with us. He had a great season last term and has had to play in a differing roles during pre-season.

“Jake is an integral part of our squad and his staying is a real boost for the start of our league campaign.”

Lee said he is happy with how McGregor has worked so far in pre-season and is glad to be staying at The Woodspring Stadium.

He added: “Although I was flattered to have received the offer from Gloucester City I enjoy the way that the gaffer is doing things here.

“I enjoyed pre-season and I can’t wait to get started in the league on Saturday, there is a great camaraderie among the players, and most of all I enjoy playing for the club.”
