Shaun Potter has been appointed Cheddar Football Club's new manager after impressing in the six games he temporarily took charge of.
Cheddar Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Shaun Potter in the role of first team manager, following his leadership of the team in the last six weeks as caretaker manager.
In a statement issued by the club, chairman Matt Postins said: “We have had a number of well qualified and experienced applicants for the position, which I would like to thank for their time in applying for the role.
“While they may be disappointed not to have progressed, given how well the team have done since Shaun has taken the reins, then it was not a difficult decision to appoint Shaun.
“He has been involved with the first team as assistant manager for the past nine months, so he not only understands the desires and goals of the club. I consider that we have a worthy successor to Jared Greenhalgh and I am sure that Shaun will build on the progress Jared made with team over the past few seasons.
“It is great to see that out of a difficult position we were in, we now have some continuity within the club and I hope that Shaun and the players can now build on the great start that he has had with the team”.
Shaun said: “I am delighted to have been appointed manager on a permanent basis. It is a great club and since coming in around a year ago I have loved every minute.
“I agreed to take the role on an interim basis six weeks ago, since then, I have enjoyed it even more, the response on the field of play has been superb which is a credit to the great bunch of lads we have got here at the club.
“The people behind the scenes at this club are amongst the best I have ever been around, it is a brilliantly run club, with a great philosophy, which matches my own. I’ll be doing everything in my power to bring this club the success it deserves and I can’t wait to get started”
