CHRISTMAS is coming! It's a really busy time in any organisation, but at a football club it tends to be chaotic. We will play three games in six days, home and away against Salisbury and away to Newport County. Three tough games! Before that we have plenty to keep us occupied starting with an important FA Trophy game at the Woodspring Stadium against Evesham United on Saturday. Kick off is at 3pm, I hope to see you there! We are also holding our funday at the club for 7-11 year olds on December 22. The response so far has been terrific, so much so that we have drafted in extra coaches and have another 15 places available. The day starts with registration at 8.45am and lasts until 3pm. The cost is just £15 and not only will the children have a great time, but the parents will be able to take a much needed rest before the big day. In order to secure one of the remaining places give me a ring on 0781 3207799.I thought Salisbury gave a brilliant account of themselves and did our division proud during their recent televised game against Nottingham Forest. They will have made a fortune from the tie with an even bigger pay day to follow in the replay. I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous. It is the biggest sole reason that I continue in football management. My major unfulfilled ambition is to make it to the third round of the FA Cup with a non league side. I've been there as a member of staff with pro clubs, but as a non league manager I've made the second round twice and been defeated both times.Once was with Weston and nothing would give me greater pleasure than leading this club into the third round and a tie against a Premiership club.If you're reading this Santa, you know what I want next year!
