Former Bristol Rovers winger Ben Swallow joins Weston-super-Mare

The 28-year-old Welshman joins from Bognor Regis Town, who finished bottom of the National League South last season, but he boasts an impressive résumé.
Swallow began his career at Bristol Rovers, learning his trade on numerous loan spells at non-league clubs around the South West before notching up 40 senior appearances for the Gas.
The speedy winger has impressed in the past against the Seagulls, and possesses an excellent left foot – which could give Weston fans hope of filling the void left by marauding left-sided full back Danny Greenslade, who has joined Hereford.
He departed the Memorial Stadium in 2012, and has since turned out for the likes of York City, Newport County, Bromley and Havant & Waterlooville.
Weston boss Marc McGregor said: “Ben is a great addition to the squad. He has loads of experience from his days with Football League and National League clubs so his signing represents our drive for quality players.”

Excitement is building ahead of the new season, with fixtures set to be revealed on Wednesday.
Weston will play their first preseason game the same day, travelling to Gloucestershire to play Brimscombe & Thrupp at 7.45pm.
It is expected a number of trialists and academy players will be given a chance to impress McGregor.
