Archant

Second-half goals from Bradley Ash and Dayle Grubb handed Weston-super-Mare a big three points at Whitehawk.

A scrappy game was settled in the final 20 minutes as Weston beat relegation-threatened Whitehawk 2-0.

The Seagulls started the day three points outside the bottom three - and above their hosts - and they started the game the brighter.

Gethyn Hill went close in the first-half but in an attritional 45 minutes meant chances were at a premium.

However, the game was settled in the closing minutes as Ash finished smartly on 72 minutes before Grubb’s clever run and goal on 81 minutes sealed the win.

Weston have now lost only once in their previous six league games.
